Livvy Dunne has ‘summer fun’ on balance beam ahead of fifth year at LSU (2024)

Olivia “Livvy” Dunne is already gearing up for the upcoming gymnastics season.

The LSU star gymnast and social media sensation, who recently announced her decision to return for her fifth and final year of eligibility with the Tigers, shared a video on her Instagram story on Thursday showing off her balance beam skills, doing a flip and sticking the landing to boot.

“Summer fun!” the caption read over Dunne’s video, which ended with her striking a silly pose.

Dunne, who boasts over 13 million followers across Instagram and TikTok, announced earlier this month that she was returning to the program in a social media video captioned “not Dunne yet.”

“These past four years have changed my life. There is something about putting on a purple and gold leotard,” Dunne began. “And no matter how many opportunities come my way off the mat, there’s just something about LSU. And that’s why I’m here to say, I’m not done yet.

“Here’s to year 5, baby.”

The news drew much shock, as the 21-year-old had previously ruled out an Olympics run and told The Post in an exclusive interview that she was contemplating the future of her gymnastics career.

“I don’t think I’m going to try for the Olympics, or anything after, since I once competed for Team USA and I closed that chapter and went to LSU,” she said on July 1.

“The national championship, that was obviously the end goal,” she added. “That was the cherry on top of my senior year. It’s just so cool to be able to make history with my whole team.”

Dunne helped bring the first NCAA Championship to LSU’s program in April.

The Lady Tigers secured the title with a final score of 198.2250 to beat California, Utah and Florida at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

The team finished with an NCAA championship record-breaking score of 49.7625 on the beam, which also marked the highest in LSU gymnastics’ history.

From multiple trips to Pittsburgh to cheer on her boyfriend, Pirates superstar rookie pitcher Paul Skenes, to a getaway in the Hamptons for Michael Rubin’s annual Fourth of July white party, to a family trip to Cabo and an SI Swimsuit release party in May, Dunne has had quite the “fun” summer.
